Dahlias brighten up any sunny garden with a long growing season, when many other plants are past their best. These colorful spiky flowers range in color and even size, from the giant 10-inch “dinner plate” blooms to the 2-inch lollipop-style pompons. Most varieties grow 4 to 5 feet tall.
